The Schomburg Center For Research in Black Culture is a preeminent global resource that collects, preserves, and teaches the Black experience to individuals of all ages, ethnicities, and races.  After years of sustained budget cuts, any further reductions will threaten this library's core capacity to fulfill its extraordinary and, in these times, especially critical mission. 

I urge you to Protect Our Roots by, at a minimum, maintaining the Schomburg's operating budgets at last year's level.
